Digital Downloads of our Winterlude performances have all been shared by email to our students who performed in December.  Please check your email.

Adult Classes

The weather might be a bit ‘blah’ these days, so put a little SPRING in your step and register for one of our 11 adult classes running per week this term.  We have adult ballet, tap, contemporary, hip hop, and pilates.  It’s not too late to register!  Please email the office today if you would like more info.

January PA Day Dance Camp

What is your dancer between in JK to Grade 5 doing for the upcoming PA Day on Friday, January 24?  Come join us at our FROZEN II themed PA dance camp with Ms. Alexia, Mr. Luis & Ms. Emalee. Very limited spots remaining for both full and half days.

Alberta Ballet School Auditions

Don’t forget that Alberta ballet school will be at North London Dance Centre on Friday, January 31st holding auditions for their wonderful summer ballet program happening in July 2020. We encourage interested students currently in grade 6-12 to go online to register for the audition.  https://www.albertaballetschool.com

Parent Viewing Week #2

Our second parent viewing week will be Saturday, March 7 – Friday, March 13, where parents are invited to observe class from inside the studio, for our last classes before we close for March Break.  Maximum of two guests per student please.

Studio Reminders

Dancer’s Waiting Room

The room to the left when you walk into the dance school is our Dancer’s Waiting Room. Any dancers who need to change are asked to do so in the washrooms. The dancer’s waiting room is where ALL of our dancers are welcome, and should be waiting before class to stretch/prepare for class.  We ask that parents wait in the parent’s lobby and not in the dancer’s waiting room, unless they waiting to enter the studio with their child for a parent & tot class.

Parent’s Lobby & Reminders

  • Outdoor shoes are only permitted in the parent’s lobby.
  • Please keep the noise level low in the parent’s lobby.
  • Please be mindful of keeping your language and tone appropriate for young ears.
  • Any personal devices with sound should be used with headphones.
  • Please respect our staff and faculty by picking up your dancers on time after class, especially if they’re in the last class of the evening.
  • Please do not drop off/arrive for classes any earlier than 15 minutes before class time, due to space limitations.

Buns for Ballet Class

It is a long-standing tradition to see ballerinas with their hair gathered into a tidy bun.  Buns ensure that students are not wasting valuable class time fixing their hair, and they can concentrate on what is most important in class – learning and developing a love for dance! Buns are mandatory for all ballet and acro classes at North London Dance Centre, for ages 3 & up. Bun kits are sold at the front desk for $5 if needed. Don’t know how to make a classical ballet bun? Let’s Dance 2020 – June Recital

Please continue to keep Thursday June 11th, Friday June 12th & Saturday June 13th open for your dancer’s rehearsals and performance(s). Both the dress rehearsals and the recitals will take place at The Paul Davenport Theatre located in Talbot College on the University of Western Ontario campus. It’s an 8-minute drive from the studio.

Attendance

A friendly reminder that dancers who miss 5 or more of the last 10 classes, OR the last 2 classes leading up to our June Recital, will not be eligible to perform onstage with their class. The last 10 classes in the season start around the last week of March, so please keep this in mind when registering your children for other Spring activities.

We use these avenues to post reminders of important upcoming dates as well as studio info. In the very rare case of any inclement weather closures, we would post this information here first.   We have only closed for inclement weather once in the past nine years, however the decision to come to class or not always remains with the parent’s level of driving comfort.
