New Proof of Vaccination Requirements – Effective October 31, 2021
The Middlesex-London Health Unit issued a new set of Section 22 Orders that impacts all indoor facilities used for sport and recreational fitness activities, including dance classes.
Starting SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31st, anyone coming in the facility ages 12+ (instead of 18+ which is currently in place) will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination with ID to stay on the premises. An individual is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after their second shot.
Photo identification is not required. Proof of identity can be established using documentation issued by an institution or public body, provided it includes the name of the holder and date of birth, such as a child’s health card.
As of October 31st, dancers attending in person classes will have two choices:
1. Provide proof of full vaccination & ID at the facility entrance every time they attend their dance lessons, or
2. Provide proof of full vaccination & ID at the facility entrance once, and have their parent provide an informed consent to have a check mark by their name in our internal system at NLDC indicating they have already been checked and confirmed fully vaccinated, and therefore don’t need to be checked at every visit. Please speak with our office staff the next time you are at the studio, to sign off if you would like to provide this consent.
If your dancer is ages 12+ and NOT fully vaccinated as of October 31st, you have the option to continue your classes over Zoom indefinitely after October 31. Please email us to let us know if you would like your child to Zoom in for their classes starting October 31. We are glad to be able to offer this option to our students.
We know that people have strong feelings about the proof of vaccination requirements, but we hope you will understand that while we did not create the requirements, we do need to follow them. Please continue be kind to our staff who are doing their very best.
