COVID-19 Precautions

While London remains under the province wide stay-at-home order, there will be no ‘in person’ dance classes at NLDC until May 20th. Our wonderful teaching faculty will continue to come to work from the studio to teach their scheduled classes at their regular times via our virtual classroom on Zoom. This means that all registered students will continue to take their classes remotely until it is safe to welcome everyone back to the studio in person. We will update all our dance families again as soon as we have received the news that in person lessons can resume.

Virtual Parent Viewing Week #2

Since we have had to revert to our virtual studio for classes for the duration of the provincial stay-at-home order, we have rescheduled our final Virtual Parent Viewing week of the season as a grand finale to our term, for the last week of classes, June 6-12. Please update your calendar.

Young Company Performance

The Young Company of NLDC will be presenting in the London Dance Festival’s 2021 Virtual Spring Showcase this Saturday, April 24th at 6 pm via Vimeo here: http://londondancefestival.ca/virtual-spring-showcase-variation. Our piece was created almost entirely during the first shutdown period, and the dancers came together for one final rehearsal in the studio with Ms. Hannah Elias. The piece was created through written and movement-based improvisational scores and filmed both onsite at the studio as well as in the dancers’ homes. This piece explores the feelings of isolation that surrounds us during these difficult times, specifically focusing on the real-life experiences and emotions of these young dancers during lockdown. Tickets are pay-what-you-can and donations of any amount can be made by etransfer to support the London Dance Festival at: londondancefestival@gmail.com.

International Dance Day – Video

International Dance Day is coming soon, Thursday, April 29th. We invite all our staff and students to email us a 5 to 10 second video of themselves dancing at home this week. Please video in landscape orientation. Who would’ve thought we would be creating this video from home a 2nd year in a row!? Last year’s video was one of our most popular posts on social media for the year, so don’t miss out on being part of this year’s video.

Join us for a day full of mermaid-themed dancing, crafts, games and FUN for children in JK to Grade 5! $44 for the day, full day only. Register using the parent portal under EVENTS.

Summer Classes & Camps

Registration is now OPEN for all families to enroll in our Summer 2021 mini sessions of classes!.

July & August (register by the month)

  • 3 & 4 Year Old Ballet
  • 5 & 6 Year Old Ballet
  • 7-10 Year Old Acro
  • Adult Open Ballet
  • Adult Open Progressing Ballet Technique

We also have three weeks of summer camp running in August for children:

🤩 August 9-13 – Minion Week
🦄 August 16-20 – Magical Unicorn Week
❄️ August 23-27 – Frozen Fun Week

Our summer camps are for children Ages 4-10 and are filling up! Children will take a variety of classes each day, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, creative movement, stretch & strength and more! We also have time allotted for crafts and games. Camp runs from 9 am – 4 pm each day. Drop off after 8:30 am, and pick up by 4:30 pm are included in the camp price of $44 per day. No half day camp available. Full days only, but you can select individual full days. Payment in full is due with registration. Dancers bring their own peanut-free snacks and lunch.

As always, we thank you for trusting us with your family’s dance education. We know you have other choices, and we’re glad you’re with us. Your support throughout this challenging season has meant the world to all of us and has enabled us to continue to work for our community.
